Yesterday was a very busy day but I felt great at the end because I accomplished everything I set out to do.
I started off with a 10 km run that was full of hills. It was tough but I pushed through. I almost put off my run until the afternoon because it was raining in the morning but luckily, the rain stopped about 2km into my run and I ended up staying pretty dry.
I’m a little behind in my training for the Fort Langley Historic Half Marathon due to a cold I got a few weeks ago and then Christmas happened. Nonetheless, as long as I stay on track, I will be just fine. My plan is to use the Fort Langley race as my last long run before I taper for the Golden Ears Half since they are about 3 weeks apart. I won’t be breaking any speed records at Fort Langley but that’s ok, I will still get my participation ribbon
Next stop was the barn to see this guy.
He loves the other horse in the photo. I’m ok with the fact that my horse is gay. It’s practice in case I every have a gay child. We had a great ride. He’s so much fun!
After the barn, it was getting late but I had one more stop…Peninsula Runners. It’s that time of year when last year’s shoes go on sale because all the new models have come out. I managed to score these Mizuno Wave Inspire 8 runners for 30% off.
Aren’t they fun? I can’t wait to take them for a spin a little later. The staff at Peninsula Runners were great and they really took the time to ensure I was getting the right runners (even though I’ve been wearing Wave Inspires for 3 years now). I was originally fitted at Kintec but the folks at Peninsula suggest I go up half a size so that my toes have a little more room. I have narrow heels so they taught me how to tie my shoes using a heel lock to lock my heels down. What a difference it makes in the feel of the shoe! I’ll do a post soon explaining how to do it.
Ok, it’s time to get up and go about my day! Have a good one
